Equality at Advans: IWD 2021 series: 5
Advans is talking about equality, the challenges women face in terms of accessing financial services and the achievements of its female staff in a series of interviews across subsidiaries to celebrate International Women’s Day 2021. Have a look at what Nesrine Assali, Client Relationship Officer at Advans Tunisie had to share below.
What is your greatest achievement at Advans?
“As a business graduate, one of my ambitions was to join a renowned institution where I could apply what I learnt during my studies. Advans gave me the opportunity to apply my knowledge, to acquire a rich experience but also to grow in a young, united team which allowed me to evolve in a short time and strengthened my self-confidence. Three years later, my enthusiasm and energy for my work remain the same..”
Why is equality important? How have you seen equality evolve within Advans since your arrival?
“Feeling equal in our rights and duties only increases our confidence. It also allows us to achieve the same objectives and to feel that our efforts will be rewarded on an equal footing. There is no difference between men and women. They are equal and perform the same tasks, which is very encouraging.”
How can women support other women at Advans at staff and customer level?
“When I first joined the institution, I felt supported by my colleagues who helped me to get into the group’s company culture and with my first tasks. They also accompany me during field visits and coach me. At the customer level, in my daily work I support clients by helping them for example find suppliers and I also help them to access financial education training.”
